Hello!
My name is Sonia Jaeger. I am a psychologist, psychotherapist and digital nomad.
My path was clear. Studies, psychotherapy training, PhD. Next up: Open a private practice.
But then everything changed. I took a break and travelled the world for 10 months and never came back. Well, almost. I come back every year, sometimes for a few weeks, sometimes for a few months.
But my home, that’s the world.
With my online counselling, I found a way to combine my passion for travelling with the work I love. Now, I am able to reach and work with many people who otherwise would not have access to a psychologist or psychotherapist.

“Sonia is one of the most forward thinking mental health professionals that I have met in many years. Not only is she very easy to talk to, but she also understands the value in finding the best techniques for the best situation. Before knowing Sonia and listening to her Mental Tools Workshop, I was struggling to find a new toolbox and afterwards I have found a new therapy that works well for my lifestyle and worth ethic. Sonia supports persons like myself (who are not her private clients) by using constructive social media posts online to make me take a moment to think about where I am in my realty- am I rushing from goal to goal, or am I actually living a mindful life. I am very grateful for her willingness to share and I look forward to learning more from her as time passes on.”
“For me, online consulting was the first important step to get help abroad in an acute crisis. When it became clear that I should get external help, this was the only conceivable option for me. On the one hand, I was very reluctant to talk about my problems on-site, on the other hand, I didn’t know where to turn to. Also, the idea of getting help “from home”, i.e. in my language and from my country, took away my fears.
As a result, the online consultation made it possible for me to open up on-site and to get contact persons and help there. I don’t know whether I would have been able to do this without this first so important emergency anchor and intermediate step.
In addition, the online consultation with Ms Jaeger is super flexible in terms of time and can also be used intensively. The contact was established immediately, and I always received very prompt answers to mails.”
“She helped me to take a different view of my relationship problems and gave me helpful advice. For me, the video consultation was the optimal way of communication because the shyness to go to a stationary psychotherapy practice for my “supposedly banal problems” was a bit too big. Moreover, they are a bit inflexible concerning the appointment arrangement. Mrs Jaeger was always easily accessible and also flexible in terms of time. I was always happy to see her on video, and somehow it felt like having a coffee with a friend.”
“Right from the beginning, it was very evident that Sonia brings experience and knowledge that was extremely valuable to the group. Last week at the #FIGT2019 Conference in Bangkok, she led an exceptional informative workshop about the future of psychotherapy and the unique perspective of someone who works predominantly online. Sonia shared her thoughts with openness and generosity, inviting the audience to dare and ask any questions. Sonia is a confident professional, with a clear voice, she leads the way for many others that are just starting their online working journey. ”

Negative feelings, pink elephants and red beach balls
